Olt Valley is a region in Romania which lies along the path of the Olt River and which connects Wallachia and Transylvania.
Olt river gorge is the longest in Romania. Its length totals 47 km. This is an area where tourists can enjoy gorgeous views in a peaceful environment. Historic remnants, hiking trails, balneoclimateric treatment resorts and monasteries provide a rich touristic offer suitable for everyone. Tourists looking for historic remnants can visit the Dacian fortresses on Cetatii Hill (904m), near Jigodin village, and the Bodoc locality, while those eager to do some hiking will find plenty of hiking trails and natural beauties to admire: Lotrisor Waterfall, rocks with weird names: the Scissors, the Stud, the Bell (along the valley between Cozia and Turnu Rosu) and the Cozia National Park, where they will find the Cozia rose and the Edelweiss.
