Targu Mures is the capital of Mures County in the Transylvania region, Romania.
The city of Targu-Mures lies in the central part of the Transylvanian plateau, at 46°32' latitude and 24°52' longitude, with an average altitude of 320 meters. Targu-Mures is an administrative, economic and cultural center, with a population of 149,577 inhabitants. The transport network ensures numerous access ways due to road E60 connecting Western and Eastern Europe. Infrastructure in Targu-Mures is modern and supports tourism through its total capacity of 107 accommodation facilities (18 hotels, 5 hostels and motels, 4 camping areas, 80 villas and B&B units) with more than 7,000 places. You will find plenty of tourist destinations once you arrive in Targu-Mures. You can go to the "Week-End" Sports and Leisure Complex on the border of Mures River, with a 25 hectare surface out of which 5 hectares of water.
