Predeal

Predeal is one of the mountain resorts on the Prahova Valley. It lies in the central part of Romania. It is the highest placed resort in this country, with an urban altitude ranging from 1.030 m to 1.110 m. With very cold winters and cool summers, Predeal is a touristic destination suitable for all types of touristic visits and tourist profiles: business tourism, recovery after medical treaments, holidays, hiking, winter sports (ski, snowboard, sleigh).


Predeal has a total surface of 58.4 kms, of which 78.047 metres built-in surface. There are more than 5,000 available places in hotels, bed-and-breakfast villas, huts, camping areas.


If you're fond of climbing and hiking, here are some clues: Piatra Mare Mountains (1,843 m) in the north, Bucegi Mountains (2,508 m at Vârful Omu peak) in the south-west and Postãvarul Mountains (1,799m) in the north-west. The accommodation offer is supported by a large number of restaurants cooking traditional Romanian food as well as international dishes.
There are 8 ski slopes in Predeal, with various difficulty degrees, and there are also marked hiking trails, ATV trails, carriage backs and teleski.


If you arrive in Romania at Henry Coanda Airport in Bucharest, it will take you another 140 kms to arrive in Predeal. If your point of departure is Brasov, the distance to Predeal is 25 kms. From Predeal you can easily get to Sinaia in order to visit the famous Peles Castle (the distance to cover is 25 kms). Or you can choose to visit Bran Castle, in which case the distance is 30 kms.
