The Leather Dressers' Tower is a point of interest located in the city of
Sibiu, Romania.
As the name shows, the tower was used by the Leather Dressers. This is one of the two towers that is left in the defense belt of the
Lower Town. The tower was part of the fourth system of fortifications and was used to store gunpowder. Massive gunpowder deposits caused major explosions in 1556 and 1570; following another fire caused by lightning in 1638, the Leather Dressers' Tower was rebuilt in the shape we see nowadays.
