Unirii Square is a point of interest in Bucharest, Romania.
Unirii Square is a landmark for inhabitants of Bucharest and tourists. The square is bypassed by Unirii Boulevard and features a central park with decorative plants and benches where you can rest for a while and get the pulse of the city. Unirii Boulevard has in its middle a long series of artesian fountains going all the way from Constitutiei Square (where you can visit the world-famous Casa Poporului) to Alba Iulia Square. In Unirii Square you will find one of the largest shopping malls in Bucharest: Unirea Shopping City. Also here, we have the Romanian Patriarchy headquarters, on Mitropoliei Hill, where all official religious ceremonies are held. Just a clue to draw your attention to the size of this cathedral: its inner length is 28 metres. From Unirii Square it'll take you 5 minutes to get to the old center of Bucharest, Lipscani Area. This area blends old architecture with lively, modern terraces and swarms with young, cheerful people. It's an area with a high flow of tourists drawn by the lively atmosphere and the variety of cafes, terraces, bars and restaurants.
