Voronet Monastery was built by Stephen the Great in 1487 to celebrate a victory against the Turks. It is known for its interior and exterior wall paintings and frescoes which feature an intense shade of blue also known as 'Voronet blue.' The paint makeup is still unknown 500 years after the church was built.
