Snagov Monastery is a historic monument nearby Bucharest (25 miles away from it). It lies in the northern part of Snagov lake, close to Snagov town.
The monastery is a famous tourist attraction due to the widespread belief that inside it is found the tomb of Voivode Vlad Tepes (Dracula). The hypothesis was not confirmed with 100% accuracy, yet the legend of the Romanian Voivode wraps this place in such mystery that Romanians and tourists alike come to visit it. Snagov lake and its surroundings are a pleasant weekend destination for many locals who come here to relax and have a good time at a barbecue. CategoriesHistory, MonumentsPictures |
