Bucharest Botanical Garden is an oasis filled with quietness and beauty, a leisure area in noisy
Bucharest. The garden was established back in 1860, during the rule of Alexandru Ioan Cuza, and covers a surface of 17 hectares.
The garden is organized into several sectors dedicated to various species of plants: ornamental flowers and plants (indigenous plants, magnolia, Japanese cherry trees), rare plants from the Romanian and Mediterranean flora, plants from the Italian garden (with a pond with lillies), plants from the southern Romanian region Dobrogea, the rose garden boasting more than 200 species of roses. Some of these sectors are in the open air and others are covered (greenhouses).
