The Fortress of Brasov was built under the rule of king Sigismund of Luxemburg. The fortress used to have 12 metres tall, 2 metres wide and more than 3,000 metres long walls. It had ramparts every 110 metres. In the 16th century it became one of the strongest fortresses in Transylvania was known as the 'Fortress of the 7 ramparts'.
