Honterus House

Honterus House is a point of interest in Brasov.


It is the house where the great man of mind and spirit, Johannes Honterus, was born. He was an outstanding personality in the life of medieval Brasov.


He drew up the first map of Transylvania, wrote the books Latin Grammars and Description of the World, created the printing house and higher school of Brasov. He also opened the first paper mill in Romania.


For five years he was first priest of the city of Brasov. His tomb is found in the courtyard of the Black Church.
