Banat and Crisana

Banat is a geographical and historical region in the western part of Romania. Banat is made up of the Timis and Caras-Severin counties and small parts of Arad and Mehedinti counties. In the past, its capital used to be the city of Timisoara.


Crisana is another geographical and historical region in the western part of Romania, just north of Banat. It is made up of Arad and Oradea counties and small parts of Satu-Mare and Salaj counties.
