Arad

Arad County lies in Western Romania and its territory is part of regions Crisana and Banat.


Arad is crossed by rivers Mures and Crisul Alb. Neighboring counties are Bihor County in the north and north-east, Alba in the east, Hunedoara in the south-east, Timiş in the south.


Arad's surface is 7,754 square kms. The administrative structure includes 10 towns (one of them is Arad city, the county capital), 68 communes and 270 villages (2004).
